ONE GOOD WAY TO STAY IN SHAPE AS WE AGE IS TO BREATH!

Breathing exercises can be a good way for older ones to get some exercise in their daily routine.

Getting older and trying to exercise can be hard. Having so many aches and pain does not make exercising something that we would want to do but really, we should include some type of exercise in our daily routine, as we age.


I was thinking about what types of exercising would be easier to do for older ones. There are exercises that can be done in a chair, while lifting lite weights. They have those exercise foot pedals that you can use while sitting down. Those are two good ways to get some exercise in without wearing yourself out.


Shapely Secrets/Body Flex by Greer Childers


I was talking with a lady about exercising and she mentioned an exercise routine I used to do years ago. It's called Shapely Secrets or Body Flex by Greer Childers. This is a breathing type of exercise.


I remember when I first saw the infomercial for Shapely Secrets, I thought this type of breathing can't do anything. I did purchase the program after seeing the infomercial about 50 times. I figured if it didn’t work within the 30 days, I will just sent it back.


This type of exercise is, well, completely different from other exercise that I had done but guess what it worked.


Well at least it worked for me and at the time it helped me to lose weight and tighten my body. Now I must admit this was years ago when I was around, 25 or 30 years old. I had a completely different body then compared to than now. I mean completely different.


Now Breathe


Shapely Secret exercises has to do with the way you breathe. This is how you do it. You breathe all the air out of your lungs, then you breathe fast through your nose only, you hold your breath while you tense up certain muscles on your body. You hold your breath for a count of 7 or 8 then you breathe normally while the muscle is still tense and hold the tense muscle for another count of 20 or so.


When I was talking to a lady about the exercises, I was happy she brought it up because I do remember that I really like doing these exercises and that they worked. So I decided I would start doing them again. I found the exercises on YouTube and started doing them the next week.


I am enjoying doing these exercises again. I especially like to do them in the morning. I feel like it gives me some extra energy because of all the deep breathing. And to be honest my muscles were sore the next day. Hopefully, I can make this a part of my routine, even if I can’t do them but once or twice a week.

I think it would be a great way for older ones to be able to maybe tighten some muscles which can burn some fat.


Also, deep breathing, taking in deep breaths will be good for the body too.
