You have to keep moving in order to stay healthy!

What’s the #1 thing you must do until you die?

The answer to that question is easy to say but for some hard to do, yet it can be done.  The answer to the question is EXERCISE!

Yes, exercise.  I know, you’ve heard it before but how many of you are getting off your butts to get some exercise in.  Should I dare say you should be exercising every day?  Okay, if you can’t do every day, at least incorporate exercise 3 times a week.  I’m not kidding exercise is some thing that is going to make a huge difference in your health and outlook on life.

If you want limber joints, you need to exercise.  I had a friend who was considering knee replacement surgery.  She was in so much pain in her knees she was going to make that call to her Doctor, so he could schedule the appointment.  At that time, I was doing Tae Bo, it’s a kickboxing exercise and she did some of it with me.  She liked it and said the next day her knees felt a little better.  When my friend got back home she started doing Tae Bo and after about a month of exercising she said her knees started feeling normal again.  She never made that appointment for knee replacement surgery.  She noticed doing the kicking made a difference for her knees.  Yet, I’m sure doing these exercises was not just affecting her knees, but her whole body.

Exercising will help you in all your senses, so physically, of course, emotionally and mentally.  It will help you to release endorphins which is the happy chemical our bodies release from exercising.  This affects the emotional part of us as well as mentally.

Exercise is also one of the best stress relievers there is!  At first, you may not want to do it but I’m telling you, once you get started, about 5 minutes in, you will feel the difference in your body that makes you want to continue exercising.

Now, when you exercise, make sure you are breathing in and out, don’t hold your breath.  If there is music you can breathe along with the beat of the music even if there is no music you can breathe along with your movement.  For instance, if you are doing biceps or arms, when you lift your arm up you can blow out of you mouth and when you put your arm back down you can inhale in through your nose.  When you are breathing as you are exercising it helps you to continue to exercise longer.

Now look, you don’t have to do a lot of exercise to feel the benefits.  If you start off with just 5 minutes a day and add on an extra minute, you will make a difference and you will see and feel a difference too.

Exercise will pay off if we are consistent with it.

We really must get up and get moving for better health as we age.  This is one of the best things we can do for our health.  I promise you, exercising will make a positive impact for your health.

So, to wrap things up, exercising is going to help us to age better, but only if we do it.  It will make our joints more flexible, which means less pain.  One important joint, our knees, will become more flexible, (especially if you do some type of kickboxing exercise). You will feel happier, look better, think clearer and have more energy.

Can you see now how exercise is the one thing, (well that and eating good food, drinking plenty of water and breathing) or is one of the main things we need to do until we die? So, come on and join me in the chase for joy and health by making some time to fit exercise in your schedule.  You can do this!

What kind of exercises do you do? Let me know.
